Hi Anxious Being,
I would suggest that you purchase a stability ball or resistance bands so that you can do a variety of exercises right from the comfort of your own home. If you have to choose from one, I would recommend the resistance bands, as many exercises on the stability ball can require a good amount of strength and skills.
There are many exercises that can be done with resistance bands and the stability ball, working every major muscle group of your body. Below are the most common/basic exercises you can most likely do:
Resistance band exercises:
Bicep curls for your biceps
Triceps extension for your triceps
Lateral raise for your shoulders and upper back
Shoulder press for your shoulders (front and middle) and triceps and upper back
Seated row for your back (sides) and shoulders (back)
Squat for your buttocks and thighs
Standing/vertical chest press for your chess, shoulders (front) and triceps
Stability ball exercises:
Abdominal Crunch for your abs
Supine Leg Curl for your buttocks, hamstrings, and spine
Supine Hip Lift for your buttocks, hamstrings, and spine
Back hyperextension for your spine
Reverse back hyperextension for your buttocs, spine, and hamstrings
Elbow Bridge (or straight arm roll-out) for your abs, obliques, lats, and spine
Ball push-ups for your chest, shoulders, and triceps
Pike roll out and in for your abs, obliques, hips
Let me know if you need instructions on how to do any of the above exercises.
For optimal benefits, you may also want to incorporate some cardiovascular training such as jumping jacks or jumping ropes, or maybe even going out for a jog.
Also remember to get adequate rest.
I hope this helps!
