What home gym machine would you recommend to a 270 lb 5 ft 9 in person who wants to get in shape?

I live in an apartment and have limited space, and will be moving around for the next few years so compactablity would be nice. I also have a one year old, so safety needs to be considered (no exposed stuff that little fingers can get caught in, etc.). I'm currently looking at the Gold's Gym Cross Trainer 600 Treadmill because the weight limit is over 300 lbs.

Whats the best at home gym for an apartment?

I just moved into a small apartment. My parents were bodybuilders in their previous years, so there's a full gym at their house. They live 45 minutes away, so I dont want to drive to their house to use their equipment either.
Basically my question is what is the ...

Does a Bowflex home gym really work?

I'm sure everybody wonders about this at some point. So, I thought I'd ask for myself. So, if any of you know, could you please tell me whether those things really work? I ask only because I have actually thought of purchasing one when I have the necessary funds, but I haven't actually acted on it, and thus far, I have only been on a regular workout plan. So, does a Bowflex home gym work?

Is a Bowflex home gym worth the investment?

I am currently expecting my second (and last child). I really want to get back into shape once the baby is born, so my husband and I are seriously considering purchasing a Boxflex home gym (he wants to use it as well). We already have purchased a good quality elliptical machine, so we want something that will work on muscle tone and definition. Plus, I hate free weights. Has anyone had good results with it? Does it only take 20 minutes a day, 3 times ...
