Bowflex Ultimate 2
With the Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym, Bowflex introduced a total-body solution than has become their best-seller. It is not the cheapest Bowflex and the fact that it is their best seller speaks well of the machine.
The Ultimate 2 offers over 95 exercises and includes a lat tower, leg extension/leg curl station, preacher curl attachment, integrated squat station and more.
These features mean that you can:
- Do more exercises for more results
- Workout faster with fewer cable changes
- Customize your routines to maximize your results
The Bowflex Ultimate 2 uses the standard Bowflex® Power Rod® Resistance technology that produces a feeling of resistance or weight similar to free weights but without the inertia. This has a benefit of reduces the chance of joint pain sometimes associated with free weights.
The Ultimate 2 comes standard with 310 lbs / 140 kg of resistance - an increase of 100 lbs over the Bowflex Xtreme and Blaze machines. You can add more resistance up to 410 lbs / 186 kg. By hooking one, two, three, four or all of the power rods units to the cable pulley system you can from as little as 5 lbs / 2 kg up to the max of 410 lbs / 186 kg of resistance.
The Bowflex Ultimate permits almost any kind of routine you would want to perform. With an easy adjust bench and the cable change pulley system you can go from one exercise to another with ease and spend your time working out, not working on the machine.
Bowflex has always incorporated a smooth built-in rowing machine which makes for good warm-ups and cool-downs.
Bowflex recently issued the third recall due problems with the Ultimate 2. This one due to reports of injuries caused by seat rails that fell because they were not manually latched. The gym's horizontal seat rail is designed to be latched in a vertical position for storage. Seems that if we all read and followed instructions, injuries such as these would not happen.
Most users rate the Bowflex Ultimate 2 very high with the major complaint being that it is quite heavy. It is heavy but the weight is not excessive for the amount of gym you get and overall it is quite small when you think of everything you can do with it.
