I know you cant get the same work out from a machine as you can from free weights but it is the same principal; instead of gravity and a weight providing resistance a machine can simulate the same kind of resistance. My current gym is getting a bit expensive, especially to commute since its so far away.So, I’ve been thinking of buying equipment to workout at home. I don’t have much space for bulky equipment so what would you recommend to include in my home gym? Also I’m working on a budget.

We just recently purchased a Spirit XE150 Elliptical and are in the market to purchase a home gym for muscle toning. It was easier to get great reviews for the elliptical. I was able to get reviews from both customers and people that service or fix the machines, but home gyms are a little tricky.
